Cost Of Living Crisis

It’s quite a scary world that we are living in really; isn’t it? It is times like this I am glad that I actually have a full time job alongside my Photography business as I simply would not survive!

Ever since the cost of living has increased, the amount of inquiries and bookings I am getting has dropped significantly, despite the fact that my social media traffic and reach has increased! I’ve spent so much time reading articles and it actually is really scary on how much the cost of living is expected to increase by January; and I think it’s safe to say, something needs to change. In fact, I recently watched a video of someone, who works in Dubai, does the same job over there that you can do here in administration; yet earns less per year, but has more money at the end of every month, by an average of £1000 to play with, at the end of the working month! Yet, the average Brit, on a salary of around £30,000 is struggling to have £150 left by the end of the month for themselves due to the cost of living; this has an onward impact to small businesses like myself who, initially was hoping this business could fund my dogs medical vet bills; but sadly hasn’t became a reality, and I understand why, people cannot afford such luxuries, and a photoshoot isn’t a necessity; I get that.

At first I was very disheartened because I love working with animals… and people! There is simply a miraculous joy from the shoot right to the edit that I cannot describe anywhere else. Because of the cost of living, I therefore had to make the rather difficult decision to actually lower my prices, quite significantly, and adjust my packages to suite, which you can view here.

As we work through the hard times of the cost of living crisis; I totally get why people simply cannot afford to have shoots because things are so unpredictable at the moment, and therefore, for the forseeable, until the government does something and listen to the people, my prices will be reduced. I will not be increasing things in a rush as I know this will all be a process, so it’s guaranteed to be the price it is until at the very least January 2023, and I will therefore be accepting payment plans, should you decide to book with me. This also means that I am allowing people to book 6 months in advance; although this does not apply to the puppy packages!

I also have a Patreon which you are guaranteed to get a shoot every year for the cost of £180*, for only £120 per year (£10 per month). I will also be doing Magazines and exclusive offers which you really don’t want to miss, and what’s better? You can also be in the chance to win a shoot every quarterly! You can view my patreon here!
